We can help you SAVE MONEY with the new "Birthday Rule" passed into legislation in 2024.
Here are some recent Medicare beneficiaries our team has personally worked with, and the results achieved by using the Kentucky Birthday Rule.
Male age 75 with stroke, was paying $235/mo on Plan G:
Female age 79 with cancer, was paying $345/mo on Plan G:
Female age 76 with congestive heart failure, was paying $285/mo on Plan G:
Male age 77 with multiple health issues, was paying $425/mo on Plan F:
Male age 85 with hearing issues, was paying over $500/mo on Plan F:
Just between those five examples, that's an average savings of $170/mo!
Over the course of a year, that's over $2,000. What kind of birthday gift could you get yourself with that??
Now, I'm sure you're asking: "How is this possible?"
To answer that question, we have to dive into some details. Move down to the section below and stick with us. We promise it's worth it!
If you have had a Medicare Supplement for a few years you have seen your premium increase every year. This is a fact of life with Medicare Supplement. You get older each year, and the insurance companies figure you are getting less healthy as well. Older clients getting less healthy is a recipe for higher rates. I think we all understand that.
You have always been able to switch from one insurance company to another that offers lower rates. The catch is that in order to change, you must be relatively healthy. Insurance companies have been permitted to ask health questions and could potentially turn you down based on your health.
Because of this, thousands of Medicare beneficiaries are trapped in a situation where the price increases are making it unaffordable to keep the coverage they love. They cannot change to another company because they cannot pass the underwriting.
With the passage of the Kentucky Birthday Rule (effective January 2024), you are GUARANTEED the flexibility to change companies within 60 days of your birthday.
During this period the insurance company must accept you with no health questions asked. They cannot limit your coverage or add pre-existing conditions. BY LAW.
Now, there is one requirement: When you make a change under this rule you must stay with the same plan. NOT the same company - you are changing to a new company.
For example, if you have Plan F with your current company, you must stay with Plan F with the new company. Same with Plan G or N, etc.
The lower prices you saw above were prices that only people who were healthy would have received in the past. Now they are available to any Medicare beneficiary who has an active policy!
No matter your situation, if you are in great health or have serious health issues, the Kentucky Birthday Rule can save you a lot of money.
